Choose the Right Site Builder When You Create a Site

How does one pick the right website builder? Here are some key things to be aware of when making a decision.

Choosing the right website builder...

Take head when selecting a website builder. They all claim to be simple but many times these claims are bloated and inaccurate. Often times you may find yourself head over heels trying to make the light of day of some of these applications. You can spend countless hours trying to figure out how to add a link or an additional page. Why spend your time trying to figure out something that is deemed simple? Spend a fraction of that time up front selecting a website builder and you will save time on the back-end.

A lot of companies offer so called DIY website creation tools but "buyer beware". These are most likely not automated and getting your business online will take far too much effort and time. Keep an eye out for a site builder that will allow you to create a site in a matter of minutes by clicking buttons and dragging text. Stay away from the sites that require a hosting company unless you are familiar with control panels and publishing your website. Domain names should also be a factor. If you're unfamiliar then choose one that offers domains or subdomains as a part of the entire package.

Stay away from most free or cheapy site creators as they will only bring down the professionalism of your site and potentially your business. I can't tell you how often that I visited a site and immediately left because it looked like it was done by 3 month old. Site creator templates should be clean and there should be several looks to choose from so pick something that fits your business industry. If you're in the insurance industry then it's probably not smart to choose a template for rug rats. I'm just saying, but to each its own.

Make sure the website creator has all the features you are looking for when creating a site otherwise you'll be hopping providers left and right. Some features you may want to include during your search are shopping carts, blogs, several thousands of templates to choose from, photo albums, etc... If it doesn't sound important now think about the future.

I know of some site builders who also provide marketing credits. This could be a great start in promoting your company. If you know for a fact that you are going to advertise via pay per click then definitely choose a site builder that offers this as part of the overall package. Why waste $100 if it's being made to you for free?

There are lots of considerations when choosing a goo easy site builder to help you create a site. I have used quite a few but would currently recommend the Create A site tool. It's simple, cheap and has all the features I listed above. At least it did the last time I used it.
