If Your Business Website Could Speak To You, What Would It Say?

Imagine your current business website as a living, breathing entity. An entity that observes things, that can process the same way our minds process. Imagine that each day, your website "wakes up" in the morning, ready for business, ready to show your customers and potential customers the best of you and your business.
Imagine it as a salesperson, sitting across from a prospective client. What does it look like? Is it dressed to impress, or is it in need of a new look? Is it ready to answer questions, show them your features and benefits, and meet their objections? Imagine the way it would interact with your prospect. Is it a good interaction?

If your website could talk to you, what would it tell you? Would you get good feedback about what's working, and what's not working? Would you be able to evaluate your sales method on your website, and together, come up with a system that works better?

What if your business website attended an event for your business - would he come back with contacts of people interested in what you have to offer, or would he come back empty handed? Is he a good representative for you? Would he follow up consistently?

If you asked your website if it had all these things, what would it tell you?
Your website should, in fact, be able to do all of these things for you. It should have a clear marketing and sales path, for new prospects who come to your site looking for your services. It should be professionally designed so that it is clean, balanced with content, images, and whitespace, and has no unnecessary or distracting information.

It should have analytics installed so that you can see what people are doing on your site - if they are staying long, what they are looking at, what they are reading, and what is not working. You should always know what you can improve on your site - getting constant feedback to allow you to make the necessary changes.
Your site should have a way to collect email addresses and build your list of contacts. Just like a salesperson at a networking event, your site should never leave empty-handed. Your site should also have software integrated that follows up with the people who are interested in your products, after they have given their email address.
