Creating A Webpage With 4 Thoughts In Mind

Creating a webpage can be as simple as using a basic template and adding predesigned objects or it can be as complex as you want it to be. Regardless of your talent, you can create a great looking page. If you use the Internet on a regular basis, you will have seen some websites that you enjoyed looking at and there were are some that, well, just need some help.

I don't want you to have a webpage that is dull, boring, lifeless and or just plain blah. I want you to have a page that is attractive, is interesting and is motivating. You are creating a webpage to offer something to the reader in the hopes that they in turn will buy what you have to offer or click on the ads that you have posted. Your goal is to make some income and if you can get the reader to act and buy then you have been successful.

Depending upon who you ask, there are a number of things which are required to make a successful webpage. Here we will discuss 4 different aspects about creating a webpage that help you through the process. These are visual design, navigation, add-ons and content.

Visual Design: When creating a webpage you have so much that you want to include, you try to incorporate everything possible. Every time you find something you think is a great thing you want to add it. This is great because you want to give your reader as much as possible. However, you don't want to overload their brain. A great visual design is one in which the webpage is balanced. The colors, the fonts, the content is visually pleasing to the eye; not to just your eyes, but to anyone's eyes.

Navigation: If you put too much on your webpage, your reader won't know where to start because there is so much to look at. On the other hand, you don't want your page to be so boring that there is nothing to entice your visitor to stay on your page. Finding the balance is important and this too should be considered when creating a webpage. You want your reader to read in a "Z" pattern as this pattern will get them easily from the top to the bottom and they will be able to see everything that you have to offer.

Add-ons: Adding some features that make your website unique and exciting help your visitor stay on your webpage. Adding a quiz, a joke of the day, a place to post a quick comment, a poll, a quote or I could go on and on are all great ideas. These are aside from your content and why you even have your webpage. Think of add-ons as a bonus or an ergo break; everyone needs that little extra something to make their day a little happier.

Content: Probably the most important part of your webpage is the content. This is where you will provide quality and useful information to your reader. The content is why the reader clicked on your link so you need to give them something that they can take away from your site even if they don't buy.
